Joan Dellavalle

Perth Celebrity stylist and fashion designer Joan Dellavalle is the creative mind behind Ebony & Ivory Hair and Beauty Salon. DellaValle travelled almost 9000 kilometres from Zambia to Perth in 2001, leaving her family and friends to build a career and life in Australia.

In 2003 well working in a nursing home and doing House Keeping in hotels and saving every dollar she could . DellaValle opened Ebony & Ivory in Fremantle while undertaking her hairdressing apprenticeship. As her business continued to grow, Joan moved the salon to its current location in Perth CBD. Her passion for consistent excellence and outstanding customer service in the Hair & Beauty world helped her win the prestigious Belmont Small Business Woman Award of the Year 2011.

Joan is a motivational woman that continually travels around the world to learn and to be inspired by the latest methods the industry has to offer by the best in the industry.

Joan is known as the mother for Hair extension and beautiful healthy hair teacher not just in Perth but around Australia Her exclusive hair extension methods techniques focus on ensuring that as much attention is given to every woman as each one of them is different just like every head of hair is different. She believes in giving each client’s individual hair the right attention and special needs it needs.

Her determination to work hard since her move to Australia has since seen her work featured in several local and international USA magazines like the Sophisticates Black and magazine 1966 ,instyle online to name but a few.  Dellavalle has worked on international celebrities like cricket player Chris Gayle and Bollywood celebrity Shonali Nagrani, Miss India International 2003, international beauty queen, and popular international TV presenter. A master for all ethnicities of hair designed and launched their line of hair extensions called Ebony and ivory in 2005 to suit every type of hair I wanted to make women of all origins feel like a million dollars when wearing our hair extensions . Although the last 10 years have been hard at times, Dellavalle believes Ebony & Ivory has accomplished its goal by providing hair and beauty services for all hair types and all skin tones.

Dellavalle believes in giving back to the community and helping people find direction  her empower me programs have been running since 2009 helping  non for profit organise , individuals in need and different programs that are making a difference in people lives. She gives back to the  community through mentoring and inspiring young girls and older girls in any small way she can to follow their dreams and create the life they desire. With some of her recent projects with Australia galaxy pageants and Elisama orphanage in Bali.

In 2011 DellaValle launched her eponymous label Joan DellaValle ( at the South Perth Boat Club where Australian singer and screen star, Jessica Mauboy performed at the show.

“The Joan DellaValle label is all about affordable, classy, vibrant and elegant fashion. I want everyday women to feel fabulous when they wear my clothes.” said DellaValle.

Today Dellavalle will continue to inspire others and bring something different and fresh where it is needed.
